How Many Treats Fit in Christmas Treat Boxes With Dividers?
Christmas treat boxes hold 4, 6, 9 or 12 treats in a card divider grid, and we cut any other count to order. Each cavity is the treat plus 6 mm, and the height adds 10 mm above the tallest treat.
| Treats per box | Grid | Inside box size |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 2 by 2 | 100 x 100 x 35 mm |
| 6 | 2 by 3 | 100 x 150 x 35 mm |
| 9 | 3 by 3 | 150 x 150 x 35 mm |
| 12 | 3 by 4 | 150 x 200 x 35 mm |
A box of one treat type needs no dividers, so single cookie runs move to our custom cookie boxes page. Christmas cupcake boxes and boxes for Christmas cakes take the same foil print on our custom cake boxes and cupcake styles. A mixed box also needs board that is safe for every treat inside it.
Which Board Is Safe for Mixed Christmas Treats?
Food grade SBS that meets FDA food contact rules is safe for mixed treats when we build it to the fatty food rule. Buttery cookies, fudge and chocolate fall under 21 CFR 176.170 for paperboard that touches aqueous and fatty foods.
Hard candy alone falls under the dry food rule in 21 CFR 176.180, but one cookie moves the whole box to the fatty food rule. An aqueous barrier coating on the inside face holds back butter, and we never print the food side.
The TAPPI kit test, known as TAPPI T 559, measures that grease resistance before the full run. With the inside settled you can turn to the holiday print on the outside.
How Do You Print a Holiday Treat Box With Foil?
On holiday custom boxes we print offset CMYK or Pantone first and then stamp gold, silver or red hot foil on top.
If you sell the box packed at retail, the label panel carries a product name, net quantity, ingredient list, allergen statement and the maker name and address. The FDA Food Labeling Guide sets out each of these lines. Boxes you pack and sell over your own counter often fall outside those rules.
Send your file on our dieline and follow our artwork guidelines so the foil lands where you expect. The print plan decides how many days you need before your sell date.
When Should You Order Christmas Treat Boxes?
Order printed Christmas treat boxes at least 28 business days before your sell date, counting each step backward from that date.
| Step | Business days | Counted back from sell date |
|---|---|---|
| Shipping across the US | 3 to 5 | 3 to 5 |
| Production | 8 to 10 | 11 to 15 |
| Printed sample | 7 to 10 | 18 to 25 |
| Artwork check and dieline approval | 2 to 3 | 20 to 28 |
A plain sample in place of a printed one takes 3 to 5 business days and saves you 4 to 5 days. With the date set the order takes one short form.
