What Size Insert Holes Fit Mini, Standard and Jumbo Cupcakes?
A standard cupcake needs an insert hole 54 mm across, because we cut every hole 3 mm wider than the liner base.

Each cell is the top width plus 6 mm so a full swirl never rubs the wall beside it. The inside height adds at least 10 mm above the tallest point of frosting so the lid never touches it. Mini cupcake boxes and any muffin box follow the same rule, so you can now decide how many go in each box.

A dozen frosted cupcakes weigh about 2 pounds, so the 12 count box uses 1.6 mm E flute board that holds its shape in a stack. Once you know the count the next choice is the board that touches the frosting.
Which Board Stops Frosting Grease From Soaking Through Cupcake Boxes?
Food grade SBS with a water based barrier coating on the inside face stops the butter in frosting from soaking through. Our cupcake packaging board meets FDA food contact rules under 21 CFR 176.170 for paper that touches moist and fatty foods.
We print only the outside of the box, so ink never sits on the food side. You can test grease resistance with the TAPPI kit test known as TAPPI T 559. With the food side settled you can plan the printed outside where your logo goes.

A lid window of 150 to 250 micron PET sits at least 6 mm from any fold and stays clear of the frosting. If you sell the box packed at retail, the label panel needs a product name and the net quantity. It also needs an ingredient list, an allergen statement and your name and address under the FDA Food Labeling Guide. When the print and label are ready the order itself takes one short form.
