Bracelet Boxes

Most bracelet packaging arrives too short by about a centimeter and the cause is the same every time. A buyer lays the piece flat on a ruler with the clasp hanging open and sends that number across. The customer receives the bracelet clasped shut instead, which makes a lobster clasp add 10 to 15 mm to the length. The bracelet box lid then closes onto metal and the hinge lifts at one corner.

We build bracelet boxes at The Customized Boxes for jewelers, silversmiths and online brands. You send the piece or its measurements and we cut the die outward from there. Printed bracelet boxes run from $1.00 to $8.00 per box depending on size and material and finish. We charge no setup or tooling fees because the die and the plates sit inside your unit price.

Why Does The Clasp Decide Your Box Length?

Measure the bracelet as the customer receives it with the clasp closed and the piece lying straight. A lobster clasp adds 10 to 15 mm over the chain length printed on your own spec sheet. A box clasp or a toggle adds more because the bar sits across the opening rather than inside it.

Our published reference for a chain bracelet box is 203 x 51 x 25 mm internal, which is 8 x 2 x 1 inches. That 8 x 2 x 1 inch footprint is the figure the trade works from across the whole market. Wall thickness then moves that figure inward because rigid board takes three to six millimeters out of every internal dimension. Folding carton board takes one to three millimeters out of the same measurement.

Depth catches buyers out on the same product for a second reason. A charm bracelet stands taller than a plain chain because every charm sits above the link line. Our 25 mm chain box holds a flat curb, a box chain or a snake chain without trouble while a charmed piece needs 32 mm.

How Does A Bangle Box Differ From A Chain Bracelet Box?

A bangle is a different product from a chain bracelet and the box has to admit that. A bangle does not fold flat so the box is square and the bangle itself fixes the internal diameter. A rigid cuff is a third case again because it holds an open shape that will not lie down.

Chain, bangle and cuff compared by internal reference, sizing rule and insert
Piece Internal reference What sets the size Insert
Chain bracelet 203 x 51 x 25 mm Length with the clasp closed Long padded pillow with a center channel
Bangle 102 x 102 x 32 mm Rigid outside diameter of the bangle Foam collar cut to that diameter
Rigid cuff Opening width plus 12 mm of ease Cuff height standing upright Flocked tray shaped to the cuff

Every one of those three builds is a separate dieline and a separate minimum order of 100 units. Send us the bangle itself when the diameter sits outside the published figure because the collar is cut from the real piece.

What Stops A Chain Arriving Coiled In One Corner?

A long padded pillow with a center channel running down the middle holds the chain seated. The chain drops into that channel and stays there while the box moves through the mail. A flat pad without the channel lets the piece slide to one end and arrive as a knot.

We cut the same pillows and trays as loose parts under jewelry box inserts for brands filling a box they already hold. A longer chain needs a deeper coil channel instead, which is settled on our necklace and pendant boxes product. The tray holds a cuff upright at the angle the customer first sees, which a soft pillow never does.

Which Material Should A Bracelet Box Be Built From?

Materials for a bracelet box by caliper, surface finish and where each suits
Material Caliper or weight What the surface takes Suits
Wrapped rigid greyboard 1,200 to 1,500 micron Full print on the wrap, foil Fine jewelry and bridal
SBS folding carton 350 to 400 GSM Full CMYK, foil, spot UV Retail and volume runs
Kraft board 300 to 400 GSM Print over a white undercoat Handmade and natural lines
Velvet over board 180 to 260 GSM pile Foil and embossing only Heirloom and engagement

Velvet, suede effect and leatherette take no printed ink under any process we run. A logo on a velvet bracelet box arrives as hot foil or as a deboss instead. A luxury bracelet box reads expensive through weight and rigidity rather than through the artwork carried on the lid. Greyboard at 1,200 micron refuses to flex under a thumb while a 350 GSM carton gives way at once. Kraft needs a white undercoat before any pale color prints on it because the brown ground shifts the hue.

A long shallow lid behaves differently from a square one under a magnet. A 203 mm lid levers open at the far end when the magnet sits only at the center. We fit a pair of magnets toward the two ends on any chain box over 180 mm.

Buyers who want the whole range in one place will find the rest of our jewelry packaging built on these same four materials.

Size Built from the bracelet laid open or coiled. A bangle is measured by its rigid diameter
Reference Sizes A chain bracelet box runs 8 x 2 x 1 in, about 203 x 51 x 25 mm. A bangle box runs 4 x 4 x 1.25 in, about 102 x 102 x 32 mm
Bangle Rule A bangle does not fold, so its box is square and the internal diameter is fixed by the bangle
Clasp Allowance Measure with the clasp closed. A lobster clasp adds 10 to 15 mm that buyers forget
Wall Thickness Rigid walls take 3 to 6 mm out of each internal dimension and folding carton takes 1 to 3 mm. We work outward from your piece, so the cavity fits on the first run

Bracelet Box Questions Buyers Ask

What is the minimum order for custom bracelet boxes?

The minimum is 100 units per size and design across every material in this range. A chain box and a bangle box count as two separate minimums because each one needs its own die. Two colorways of one size count as two minimums because each needs its own printing plates.

How do I measure a bracelet for a bracelet box?

Fasten the clasp and lay the bracelet straight, then measure end to end in millimeters. A lobster clasp adds 10 to 15 mm over the chain length shown on your spec sheet. Send that closed figure across and we add the wall thickness ourselves before the die is cut.

Does a bangle box use the same dieline as a chain box?

The two are separate dielines and separate minimums under our pricing. A bangle box is square at 102 x 102 x 32 mm because the rigid diameter of the bangle fixes it. A chain box runs long and shallow at 203 x 51 x 25 mm to hold the piece straight.

How do I put my logo on a personalized bracelet box?

Printed paper and board take full CMYK process alongside Pantone spot colors with no limit on gradients. Velvet and leatherette take hot foil stamping and embossing and debossing instead. Custom bracelet packaging artwork reaches us as vector PDF or AI on our dieline with 3 mm bleed.

Which insert suits a bangle box and a cuff?

A bangle sits inside a foam collar cut to the outside diameter of the piece. The collar stops the bangle from rolling while the box travels through the mail. A rigid cuff needs a flocked tray instead because it keeps an open shape.

How long does a wholesale bracelet box order take?

Folding carton runs 8 to 10 business days and rigid or wrapped runs 10 to 12. Both clocks start at dieline approval rather than at the date you place the order. Add 3 to 5 business days for a plain sample or 7 to 10 for a printed one.
