How Do You Lay Out the Window and Label on Custom Square Soap Boxes?
Put the window on the face and the label panel on the back, because a square box has only one large face on each side. A round stamped puck reads best through a round window of 60 mm cut into a 79 mm face.
That size leaves about 9 mm of board on each side and clears the 6 mm edge rule we use on soap boxes with window.
A moisturizing or scent claim makes the bar a cosmetic, so the back panel lists ingredients in descending order. A bar that meets all three parts of 21 CFR 701.20 counts as true soap and answers to the CPSC instead. With both panels planned you can pick the lid that keeps the box square.
Which Lid Styles Keep a Square Soap Box Square?
A tuck end and a two piece lid and base both keep the box square, and a pillow box does not. A tuck end folds from one flat sheet of board and costs the least per box.
