What Makes A Candle Box Read As Luxury?
Weight, a lid that resists, and a surface that is not plain print. The table gives the three rigid builds we run for candles, the board behind each and what the buyer feels when the box is opened.
| Build | Board | Closure | What the buyer feels |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two piece lid and base | 1.5 to 2 mm greyboard, wrapped | Lid lifts off, 20 to 30 mm overlap | Weight and a clean reveal |
| Magnetic closure | 2 mm greyboard, wrapped | Hinged lid with two magnets | A lid that snaps shut and reopens |
| Drawer | 1.5 mm greyboard, wrapped sleeve | Slides out with a ribbon pull | Slow reveal, keeps its shape on a shelf |
A two piece box is the one most luxury candle brands start on, because the lid lifts clean and the base shows the candle in a cradle. A magnetic closure costs more per unit and is worth it when the box stays on a shelf after the candle is gone.
Which Wrap And Finish Suit Luxury Candle Packaging?
The wrap is 128 to 157 GSM art paper glued over the greyboard, and every finish goes onto that wrap before it is applied. Soft touch lamination gives the matte velvet surface that most luxury candle boxes carry now, and it marks less than a gloss. Hot foil in gold, copper or black takes a logo on a dark wrap in one pass. A deboss of the logo with no foil reads quieter and costs about the same.
Keep the artwork to one or two of those. A black wrap with one gold foil mark outsells a wrap carrying four finishes, and it prints with fewer rejects.
How Is The Candle Held Inside A Luxury Box?
By a cradle cut to the vessel, never by the box walls. A die cut foam insert at 10 to 25 mm holds a glass jar with 2 mm of clearance and lifts it 15 mm off the base. It is wrapped in the same paper as the box or flocked. The candle box inserts page carries the sizing rule. A set of two or three jars takes one insert with spaced cavities, which is the build the candle gift boxes range uses.
Can A Luxury Candle Box Stay Inside A Budget?
Yes, if the money goes on the board and one finish. The rigid board and the wrap are most of the unit cost and they are what the hand feels. Foil adds one pass, a magnetic closure adds hardware, and a flocked insert adds a process. The minimum of 100 per size and design comes down on rigid work. The price break at 1,000 is where a rigid box moves closest to a printed carton. Rigid candle boxes without the wrap finishes sit on their own page for brands that want the weight at a lower price.
How Do You Order Luxury Candle Boxes Wholesale?
Send the vessel size, the quantity and the finish you have in mind through our quote form and a dieline and a price come back within the week. The terms below hold at 100 boxes and at 5,000, and rigid work runs 10 to 12 business days.
- Minimum order is 100 units per size and design across every material in this range
- Price breaks arrive at 500 and 1,000 units on one artwork and not across mixed designs
- Production takes 8 to 10 business days for folding carton and 10 to 12 for rigid and wrapped
- A plain sample takes 3 to 5 business days and a printed one takes 7 to 10
- No setup or tooling fees apply because the die and the plates sit inside your unit price
- Shipping is free across the United States on every order we take
Order a printed sample before the run, because a soft touch wrap and a foil mark can only be judged in the hand. Every other candle style sits on the candle boxes page.
